Fundraising for the Watkins Family
Sadie Watkins has spent her life caring for the needs of others, but since suffering a stroke last year, she
is in desperate need of care herself. Sadie is the wife of Brother Lyndal K. "Fuzz" Watkins, a Past Master of Tyrian No. 427 of Brandon,
a dual member of the Mississippi Lodge of Research No. 640 and a Past Grand Officer.
The Watkins, long-time residents of Brandon, were hit with great misfortune last year, when Sadie suffered a debilitating stroke which
almost cost her life. At the time, her doctors believed that her chances for survival were minimal and furthur added that if she did
survive, she probably would not be able to even speak again.
It was an intense time of prayer and hope, as the Watkins family struggled to cope with the possibility of losing a wife, best friend
and mother. Owing all to the blessings of God, Sadie did survive the stroke and the Masonic community rallied to their cause, raising
money for a motorized chair, as well as the basic essentials of life. Sadie entered rehabilitation therapy, and has even gained portions
of her speech back. What a blessing indeed!
However, misfortune has struck again. Faced with the insurmountable amount of medical bills, which extend well beyond what their medical
insurance has covered, the Watkins family face the very real possibility of losing everything they own. Being on fixed incomes, it is near
impossible to pay the medical expenses AND provide for their everyday needs.
As a Masonic family, the Watkins need our help in doing whatever we can to assist them in this dark time. Any amount you can give, no matter
how small or how large, can benefit the Watkins family immensely. Imagine if the roles were reversed and it was YOUR family who had been
